Shanghai scientists develop highly efficient coal-burning additives

Thermal Power PlantDr. Jiang Biao, the director of the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) successfully developed CHARNA C and CHARNA C02 which are new type of highly efficient coal-burning additives.

The new additives have good energy-saving function, has been listed as national key projects to promote energy-saving technologies by National Development and Reform Commission.

A long time of the future, the coal remains China's main energy. Therefore, the development of the highly efficient coal-burning additives has great significance to the emission reduction additives.

According to the introduction, after using the highly efficient coal-burning additives, the emission reduction rate of coal-burning is 7% ~ 12%, sulfur dioxide is 24% ~ 33%, and emission reduction of nitrogen oxides is around 17 percent.
